Dance Tribe
Welcome to Key West Dance Tribe! What began as a summer dance camp is now evolving into a year-round dance experience, running from the first week of October until the end of May. Our classes cater to all ages and skill levels, offering a range of styles including ballet, tap, hip-hop, and jazz.
Under the guidance of our dedicated and skilled instructor, students will develop their dance abilities, build confidence, and experience the joy of performing. The year culminates in a spectacular recital, where every dancer gets to shine and showcase their hard work and creativity. Join us for a fun-filled year of dance, growth, and unforgettable moments!
Meet Ms. Kelsey
KWDT's Dance Instructor
Kelsey Eckerson grew up in Homestead, Florida where she trained at her local dance studio for 15 years in the styles of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, and acrobatics. During this time, she was also a part of Expressions Dance Company, a nonprofit dance company that produced seasonal dance performances and participated in initiatives throughout the community. During high school, Kelsey gained training in the styles of contemporary and hip hop, and she served as her school’s dance team captain. Upon graduating from high school, Kelsey moved to Orlando and attended the University of Central Florida. While at UCF, she was a part of the KnightMoves Dance Team, competing at the national level, as well as the Knights & Damsels Dance Company. She graduated with a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in Dance. While living in Orlando, she worked as an elementary school teacher, as well as a dance instructor at Destination Dance of Oviedo where she taught hip hop, jazz, lyrical, ballet, and tap to students aged 3 all the way to adults! After moving to Key West last summer, she currently teaches 3rd Grade at Gerald Adams Elementary School. This past summer, Kelsey hosted a princess camp and a dance camp at FYT for dancers aged 3-13. Kelsey loves sharing her knowledge and passion for dance with her students, and is so excited to start this new journey with Key West Dance Tribe!
